INFORMATION ABOUT COOKIES

Due to the entry into force of the amendment to the Spanish Information Society Services Act (LSSICE in Spanish) introduced by Royal Decree 13/2012, it is necessary to obtain the express consent of users of all websites that use unnecessary cookies before they browse the sites.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels, are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about its visitors and to ensure the correct functioning of the website.

These devices enable the web server to remember certain data about the user, such as its viewing preferences for the pages of that server, the user name and password, products that are of most interest to them, etc.

COOKIES AFFECTED BY THE REGULATIONS AND COOKIES EXEMPT THEREFROM

According to the EU directive, cookies that require the user’s informed consent are analytical, advertising and affiliation cookies; however, technical cookies and cookies required for the correct functioning of the website or rendering the services expressly requested by the user are exempt from such obligation.

WHAT KINDS OF COOKIES ARE THERE?

There are five main groups of cookies:

  1. Analytical cookies: these collect information on how the website is used.
  2. Social cookies: these are required for external social media.
  3. Affiliation cookies: these track visits from other websites with which the website establishes an affiliation agreement (affiliate companies).
  4. Targeting and advertising cookies: these collect information about the preferences and personal choices of the user (retargeting).
  5. Technical and functional cookies: these are strictly necessary for using the website and rendering the contracted service.

COOKIES THAT ARE USED ON THIS WEBSITE

PHPSESSID: a technical and strictly required cookie that contains the session identifier. It is deleted when the browser is closed.

_lang: a technical and strictly required cookie that contains the session language. It is deleted when the browser is closed.

ac_cookies: a technical and strictly required cookie that contains the value of whether or not the installation of cookies has been accepted. It expires 1 year after the latest update.

_ga: cookie that enables the tracking function of single visits. This cookie is installed the first time a user enters the website through a browser. When this user enters the website again with the same browser, the cookie will consider it to be the same user. It will only interpret it to be another user when the user changes the browser. _gat: This cookie is associated with Google Analytics. It is used to limit the speed of the request, limiting the collection of data on high-traffic websites. It expires in 10 minutes.

_gid: This cookie is associated with Google Analytics. It is used to identify users and expires in 24 hours.

HOW TO DELETE COOKIES FROM THE BROWSER

Chrome

  1. Select the Tools icon.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on Show Advanced Options.
  4. In the “Privacy” section, click on Content Settings.
    • Delete cookies: Click on All Cookies and site data.
    • Do not allow cookies to be stored.
  5. Click on Delete browser data (Clear Cache).
  6. Close and restart the browser

Internet Explorer. Version 11

  1. Select Tools | Internet Options.
  2. Click on the General tab.
  3. In the “Browsing History” section, click Delete the browsing history on exit.
  4. Select Delete files.
  5. Select Delete cookies.
  6. Click Remove.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Close and restart the browser.

Firefox. Version 18

  1. Select Firefox | History | Clear recent history.
  2. Beside “Details”, click on the down arrow.
  3. Select the following verification boxes: Cookies, Cache, Active logins.
  4. Using the “Time range to clear” in the drop down menu, select All.
  5. Click Delete now.
  6. Close and restart the browser.

You can accept or reject the cookies individually in FireFox Preferences in the History section available at Tools > Options > Privacy & Security.
